Sharon A. Keyser was born and raised in Washington, D.C. When she was a young girl, her great-grandmother taught her to sew. Sharon quickly took to the craft, and soon discovered that she had a passion for fabric. She would spend hours in the fabric stores, caught up in the various colors and textures surrounding her.

Sharon enjoyed sewing much of her clothing through high school, but found that she had little time to devote to it once she entered college. She studied Accounting at North Carolina A&T State University. After two years there, she transferred to Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she received her Bachelors degree in Accounting. Soon after, she earned her C.P.A. Even though she advanced in her career, eventually being named Chief Financial Officer of a book publishing and distribution company, Sharon still felt the fire for her craft in her soul. In early 2005 she launched SKCreations, fanning the flame that had ignited in her youth.
